What the Free Program Includes

This is more than a printable coloring sheet. Completing the activities is how participants demonstrate what they learned about the birthplace home and its history. The park describes two participation routes: returning completed work in person or sending the finished guide to staff for review.

The National Park Service says anyone may become a Junior Ranger through this program. Its activity listing estimates about 30 minutes, although each participant can work at their own pace.

Families visiting the site can request a booklet from visitor-center staff, borrow a pencil if needed, and return the completed activities to a ranger. The park says the reward is a badge and certificate.

Activities and Award Options

For at-home participation, the park provides a 1.5 MB downloadable PDF guide. The Junior Ranger page permits returning the completed guide by email or postal mail; a related NPS activity page specifically describes returning the booklet with a Junior Ranger badge.

The historic home is in Hope, Arkansas. The site’s interpretive focus is Clinton’s formative childhood years, giving families a history-oriented program rather than an outdoor wildlife challenge.

How to Complete the Junior Ranger Activities

  1. Open the site’s official Junior Ranger page and download the activity guide PDF, or obtain the free guide at the visitor center.
  2. Complete the activities using the guide and information about the historic site.
  3. For in-person participation, show your completed work to park staff. From home, use the official page’s email or postal submission instructions for review.
  4. Follow the park’s instructions for receiving the badge or certificate; do not assume instant electronic delivery of a physical award.

Eligibility, Printing and Fulfillment

The educational activity has no program fee. Printing a PDF or mailing a paper booklet may create personal expenses.

Submitting a completed booklet for review differs from merely downloading it. The park does not promise an immediate mail-delivery timeframe.

Review the National Park Service program instructions for the exact submission channel and the current requirements before requesting a mailed reward or visiting a park location.
