What the Halloween freebie includes
The costume promotion covers one doughnut per qualifying visit under the announced offer. Krispy Kreme identifies the eligible choices as an Original Glazed doughnut or a Classic Ring doughnut. The company’s 2026 Halloween announcement separates this giveaway from its limited-time Looney Tunes Halloween collection, so the free costume offer should not be read as including one of the specialty character doughnuts.
The important condition is simple: the guest must visit a participating shop in costume during the stated promotion dates. Krispy Kreme explicitly says no purchase is necessary for the free doughnut.
How to get the free doughnut
- Choose a participating U.S. Krispy Kreme shop.
- Visit on Friday, October 30, or Saturday, October 31, 2026.
- Wear a costume when you visit.
- Ask for the Halloween costume freebie and choose an Original Glazed or Classic Ring doughnut, subject to the promotion and shop participation.
Dates and participating shops
Krispy Kreme’s current 2026 announcement lists the costume giveaway for October 30 and October 31 at participating U.S. shops. Because the company uses the phrase “participating shops,” the promotion should not be assumed to apply at every location. If you are making a special trip, check the current offer through the button on this page before heading out.
No purchase requirement
The company’s announcement specifically states that no purchase is necessary for this costume promotion. You do not need to buy a dozen, enroll in Krispy Kreme Rewards, or purchase one of the seasonal Halloween products to qualify under the terms described in the announcement.
This matters because Krispy Kreme is also running other seasonal promotions with separate purchase conditions. Those offers should not be confused with this free costume doughnut giveaway.
What to know before visiting
The offer requires a costume, but the press release does not provide a detailed definition of what qualifies as a costume. Rather than inventing a standard, the safest approach is simply to follow the provider’s current promotion guidance and be visibly dressed for the Halloween promotion.
Shop participation can vary, and normal operating hours still apply. The freebie is time-sensitive, so use the current offer link to confirm the promotion shortly before your visit.
Why this is a true Halloween freebie
This offer fits the site’s no-purchase-required freebie category because Krispy Kreme directly states that the qualifying guest can receive the doughnut without buying another item. The costume and participating-shop requirements are conditions of the promotion, but they are not purchase requirements.
The offer is also limited to two specific dates, so it should be treated as a seasonal Halloween promotion rather than an evergreen Krispy Kreme reward.
