Free Trick or Tree Trunk Halloween Event Details
Draves Arboretum is hosting its Trick or Tree Trunk Halloween event on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The official event page describes it as a family-friendly Halloween afternoon where children can explore the arboretum in costume and collect candy from designated treat stops.
The arboretum specifically states that admission is free and the event is open to the public. That makes this a genuine no-cost Halloween outing rather than a paid festival or ticketed attraction.
Costumes Are Encouraged
The event invitation encourages kids to wear their favorite costumes and bring a trick-or-treat container. Since this is an outdoor arboretum event, comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate layers are also a practical choice.
Choose costumes that are easy to walk in and do not block a child’s vision. Long costumes or accessories can be harder to manage on outdoor paths, so simple and comfortable usually works best for this kind of event.
Useful details before you begin
More Than 60 Treat Stops
The event puts a nature-themed twist on traditional trunk-or-treating. Instead of collecting candy from car trunks, kids search through the arboretum for more than 60 treat stops positioned at designated trees.
Children of all ages are welcome to participate, according to the organizer. Bring a trick-or-treat pail or bag so kids have something convenient to carry their candy in while walking through the grounds.
Date, Time, and Location
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Draves Arboretum is located at 1815 Sharrick Road in Darien, New York.
Because this is a one-day event, it has a reliable fixed expiration date. If you plan to attend, confirm the current event page before leaving home in case the organizer posts any last-minute operational updates.
Games, Face Painting, and More
In addition to the treat stops, Draves Arboretum says the Halloween afternoon includes games, face painting, and more activities. The organizer does not list every activity individually, so we are keeping the details limited to what the current event page confirms.
The mix of candy, games, and face painting makes this more than a quick trick-or-treat stop. Families can spend time walking the arboretum and enjoying the seasonal activities without an admission fee.
Rain or Shine
Draves Arboretum says the event will take place rain or shine. That means families should check the forecast and dress for the conditions rather than assuming the event will be canceled for light rain.
If severe weather develops, it is still smart to review the official event page before leaving home. The organizer controls any final safety or schedule decisions.
