1. What Is the Chili’s Birthday Dessert?
My Chili’s members currently receive a free birthday dessert as one of the program’s listed benefits. The reward is designed as a birthday perk for members and appears in the member account when issued.
The current rewards page does not identify one single dessert in the public description, so check the reward loaded to your account for the exact eligible item or choices.
2. How Do You Join My Chili’s?
You can join My Chili’s through the Chili’s app, the website, or a participating restaurant’s tabletop device. Membership gives access to birthday rewards and other program benefits.
Use accurate account information so the birthday reward can be issued correctly. Review the program terms and privacy choices before joining, especially if you opt into email or text marketing.
3. When Does the Birthday Reward Expire?
The current rewards page says the birthday dessert reward expires 10 days after it is issued. That is a relatively short redemption window, so do not wait until the end of your birthday month unless the date shown in your account allows it.
Your individual reward is the best source for the exact expiration. Open it before visiting so you know how long you have and whether any location or order-method restrictions apply.
4. How to Redeem the Dessert
Chili’s says rewards are added to your My Chili’s account and can be selected when ordering. You can log in through the app or website, or use the restaurant’s tabletop device when available.
- Join My Chili’s before your birthday.
- Check your account when the birthday reward is issued.
- Read the exact reward terms.
- Select the reward during a qualifying order.
- Use it before the expiration date.
5. Is a Purchase Required for the Birthday Dessert?
The public rewards page clearly states a $5 minimum purchase for the separate free Chips & Salsa perk, but it does not state that same $5 requirement next to the birthday dessert description. Because reward-specific terms can vary, check the birthday reward itself before assuming no purchase is required.
This is an important distinction: the birthday dessert and the recurring chips-and-salsa benefit are separate rewards with different terms.
6. Where Can You Use the Reward?
Redemption is tied to the My Chili’s program and participating locations. Availability can vary, and not every order channel may support every reward.
If you are planning a birthday visit specifically for the dessert, confirm the reward is active in your account and that your selected restaurant accepts it before making a special trip.
7. Other My Chili’s Benefits
My Chili’s currently also promotes free Chips & Salsa with a minimum $5 purchase, plus surprise rewards and giveaways. Those benefits are separate from the birthday dessert and have their own requirements.

8. What to Check Before Your Birthday
Make sure your account information is current, watch for the reward around your birthday, and read the expiration date as soon as it appears. If the reward is not showing, contact the program or check the current terms rather than relying on an older screenshot.
Restaurant rewards can change, so treat the offer displayed in your account as the final word on eligible desserts, timing, and redemption requirements.
